Curriculum Overview

The Curriculum

What does the curriculum aim to do?

Our knowledge-based curriculum helps children develop skills, concepts, and positive working attitudes through a curriculum content where learning is defined as an alteration in the long term memory; learning is joined up and pupils develop building blocks to enable them to learn effectively (Intent).

We plan for deliberate links within and between subjects to ensure opportunities to embed and build upon knowledge, placing learning in a meaningful context. We provide first-hand experiences to enhance and enrich the curriculum; WOW days, residential trips, Enterprise week (Implementation).

Children achieve well and make at least good progress from their starting points. End of KS2 outcomes are above the national standard and children are equipped with the skills necessary to successfully move onto the next phase in their education (Impact/Achievement)
