This is our Malawi class blog to let you know all that we have been doing. Please view all out latest news below and you can also link to and read details of all forthcoming events and upcoming activities opposite.
Class Malawi is a great place to be at Forest View. Mrs McCarthy is our class teacher and Mrs McClymont also works with us, teaching us and supporting us with interventions. During the year, we will also be working with Miss Lindley for singing and Ms Smith for Ukulele, who will both be teaching our music. Mr Clarke will teach Games in our PE lessons. So we will certainly get used to working with different people.
Our class is full of enthusiastic and friendly people. As a class, we work hard to complete challenges and aim to work as a team at all times. However, it is also important that we try our hardest to become independent learners too.
In the spring term we will learn more about a variety of ‘Out of this World’ things. In Geography, we will be looking at contrasting climates through human and physical geography. In English we will be writing narratives that tell a story of travelling to a different world, writing poetry linked to ‘The Planets’ and writing discussion texts which consider the benefits and disadvantages of mining in ‘out of this world places’. In music, we will be comparing and reviewing different styles of music linked to our topic. Through our Science work, we will be considering evolution and adaptation of living things including classification according to characteristics. Our RE topic will find us thinking about different religious approached to life and death, whilst in Computing we will be evaluating digital content and search technologies. In Art, we will be researching and creating Surrealist artworks. In French, we will be engaging in conversation about people and places both orally and in writing.
