Summer 2018

Welcome to Ireland

Our curriculum, news & events

Summer Term

Our topic for this term is “Roaming with the Romans”. Our work will look at the Roman invasion, revolt and what the Romans left behind. This will link to our English work as we learn about writing myths and legends and haiku. The cross curriculum approach continues through our geography work as we look at Italy, Volcanoes and Mount Vesuvius. The science work will explore sound and electricity.  This term will also see us undertake our production of Letters From the Trenches to mark the centenary of the end of World War One.

This is our Ireland class blog to let you know all that we have been doing. You can link to and read details of all forthcoming events and upcoming activities opposite.

Class Ireland is a great place to be at Forest View.  Mrs Bee is our class teacher and our TA Miss Pearson also work in our class too. During the year, we will also be working with Miss Lindley and Ms Smith, who will both be teaching our music.   Mr Clarke will teach Games in our Wednesday PE lessons and Ms Marshall will be teaching our SEAL lessons.  So we will certainly get used to working with different people.

Our class is full of enthusiastic and friendly people. As a class, we work hard to complete challenges and aim to work as a team at all times.   However, it is also important that we try our hardest to become independent learners too.

Our motto is Consistent Quality – which is something we strive to achieve throughout our work.

Science Club Wk2

This week’s science club saw the children bridge building using a range of materials.  Each material had its pros and cons.  Mac appears to be confident but the rest of his team aren’t so sure.  The session ended with great balls of fire.  Well, maybe not quite but it does look really exciting.
