Spring 2018

Welcome to Ireland

Our curriculum, news & events

Spring Term

In the spring term, our topic is “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble”. We will begin with an exploration of mountains, rivers and earthquakes. Our English work will see us looking at writing in a persuasive manner. Our science supports our geography work as we look at the water cycle, states of matter and materials.  In art, we will sketch landscapes linked to our geography. As in the autumn term we will be trying our best to learn all of our times, tables to achieve our special times table awards.  We will also be preparing for our residential to Hathersage and planning our production.

This is our Ireland class blog to let you know all that we have been doing. You can link to and read details of all forthcoming events and upcoming activities opposite.

Class Ireland is a great place to be at Forest View.  Mrs Bee is our class teacher and our TAs Mrs Bullimore and Miss Pearson also work in our class too. During the year, we will also be working with Miss Lindley and Ms Smith, who will both be teaching our music.   Mr Clarke will teach Games in our Wednesday PE lessons and Miss Warren will be teaching our Art and DT.  So we will certainly get used to working with different people.

Our class is full of enthusiastic and friendly people. As a class, we work hard to complete challenges and aim to work as a team at all times.   However, it is also important that we try our hardest to become independent learners too.

Our motto is Consistent Quality – which is something we strive to achieve throughout our work.

This afternoon we walked over to Brookfield manor to complete some orienteering and a took...

Exciting PE with Mr Lacey

On Friday afternoon we had our first PE session with Mr Lacey.  It was a cold, dull afternoon and at times we felt that we needed to use flood light to see what we were doing, but we were all very enthusiastic and enjoyed ourselves.  We worked individually and in pairs to improve our throwing...
