Welcome to Canada

Our curriculum, news & events

This is our Canada class blog to let you know all that we have been doing. You can link to and read details of all forthcoming events and upcoming activities opposite.

Welcome to Class Canada! Our class teacher is Miss Beech. We also have Mr Clarke teaching us PE.

In Y3, we have a very exciting and challenging curriculum, which helps children to become independent learners.  In our classroom, we try to always have a positive learning environment, which helps us to achieve and exceed our potential. Miss Beech is sure Year 3 will be an exciting year for Class Canada, as we have many interesting and engaging topics to learn about.

Autumn Term

Our topic for this term is Stones and Bones. This exciting topic will begin with a Stone Age day; we will make our own stone age jewellery, arrows and even create some cave art! In English, we will be exploring many Stone Age stories, including The Croods! Our science topic is all about plants and animals, we will be growing our very own plants and investigating what helps them grow. Our art will link closely with our topic as we look at Andy Warhol and create some Stone Age animal prints. This term will be full of fun and exciting new things we can learn together, we can’t wait to get started.

Science Club Wk2

This week’s science club saw the children bridge building using a range of materials.  Each material had its pros and cons.  Mac appears to be confident but the rest of his team aren’t so sure.  The session ended with great balls of fire.  Well, maybe not quite but it does look really exciting.
