Adastra Primary Partnership

Closing the educational achievement gap

Closing the educational achievement gap for children from disadvantaged backgrounds remains a pressing national priority. The 2016 White Paper, Educational Excellence Everywhere, is built on the principles of ensuring equality and excellence for all children, and rightly demands the opportunity for all pupils to reach their full potential, irrespective of where they live in the country.

We have joined the Adastra Primary Partnership to support the research in this field.

The Adastra Primary Partnership at present consists of 7 schools – one primary academy, four primary schools, one junior academy and one infant school. However, it is set to expand to bring in other schools who share the same challenge; and also the expertise of increasing progression and narrowing attainment gap for white working class pupils with a particular focus on increasing the opportunities for future success in education and employment.
