There may not have been very many of us at school today, but we celebrated in style. After spending the morning learning about World War Two: rationing, German expansion and what VE Day meant to the British people, we enjoyed a street party. We put up the bunting and spread out the picnic blankets before tucking into a feast. There were: sandwiches, cakes including scones with jam, strawberries and cream, a game of cricket, kite flying and an Easter egg hunt (Miss Pearson had left overs!) Thank you to Mrs Wakefield at the Town Hall for the lovely VE Day boxes, we used everything!
