As you are aware parking outside the academy continues to be a real concern. We have had concerns from local residents about parking across their driveways, on the grass verges outside of the houses and also parking on the corner of Beech Avenue which is making it difficult for drivers to see when pulling out of the junction. A child was almost knocked over this week with visibility being so poor due to cars parking so close to driveways and children walking apart from their parents. Could you please also be aware that the yellow zig zag lines outside the school are a ‘no stopping’ zone, therefore cars must not stop on these lines to drop off children.
Local residents have contacted the council and have been in touch with the police with regard to the parking difficulties. The local police officer has informed the residents that if anyone parks across their driveway then it is an offence and they may receive a ticket. We have also requested that the CCTV car has a drive by during the morning and afternoon. Any cars that are illegally parked will automatically receive a ticket.
We would like to encourage parents/carers to use the parking provided on the Ollerton Football Ground. This is the safest place to use and hopefully will prevent any further incidents. The safety of our children is paramount and hope you will support us with this.
Thank you for your support.
