What a fantastic day! The children have enjoyed a good long walk in beautiful weather with stunning scenery. We’ve learnt about paper mills, moles, seen a Viking settlement and a motte and bailey, and how to measure the wind speed,. There were some great views and we got to run around a large boulder and Mrs Bee’s highlight, a fly past by the Lancaster bomber. Miss Pearson claims she saw a sheep fall off a rock, but Mr Whiting and Mrs Bee aren’t sure they believe her. The children also helped to reunite a lost dog with its owner. No wonder the walk took a little longer than expected. Everyone was already fast asleep by the time Mrs Bee sat down to write this.
After looking closely at the weather forecast Mrs Bee was worried that she, Mr Whiting and Miss Pearson and the children were going to get wet today. We did not! It stayed dry as we went over to Brookefield Manor to complete our orienteering course. We’ve been learning how to set a map, read keys and work as a team. After a successful afternoon we enjoyed a good tea, made our packed lunches for tomorrow ready for our walk along Stanage Edge. In the evening Mr Whiting ran some fun games on the centre playground before we settled down for bed.
