Class Ireland set off in great excitement this morning to visit the Collection in Lincoln. We headed out towards Tuxford and across Dunham bridge (paying the toll and avoiding the troll) and then across to the Fosse Dyke which we followed into Lincoln. It was a clear morning so we could see the Cathedral, Castle and Windmill in the distance. After the bus dropped us off we had a short walk up some of Steep Hill. There were complaints from a few children about how steep in was, what a shame we didn’t have time to walk to the top of the hill, then the would have realised what steep was!
Once the children arrived at the museum they were greeted by Linda, who gave us in brief introduction in to the history of Lincoln as a Roman town. Then we divided into groups to go on an archaeological dig, tour of the museum, make Roman inspired shields and to join the Roman army.
Watch this space, we will be writing recounts of our day, which will be posted as we complete them.
