Another great day, although it rained, it didn’t dampen our spirits! The children showed great perseverance and teamwork on Jacob’s ladder, and they loved covering themselves in “war paint” (mud) when shelter building.
We’ve decided to let the children do the talking tonight, so it’s over to them…
“It made me realise how lucky I am to get to go here and I loved the activities and adventures we have experienced.” Daisy.
“The best part is the food- there was so much, all cooked by very good cooks- especially the pasta- I recommended that to the teachers!” Dylan R.
“There were outstanding opportunities and amazing memories that I will never forget. I have enjoyed every second and would love to come here again.” Isla.
“I have enjoyed my experience at Kingswood. The 3G swing was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had… I used to be scared of heights… but not anymore.” Luke
“I have got to know most of the people here who I wouldn’t normally play with and found out that we get along very well!” Gracie.
“I really like Kingswood because it made me challenge myself. We’ve all got on really well and had fun. I got to the top on the 3G swing and that was my favourite activity.” Sam.

The children did us proud again last night, some children are now getting 10s for their behaviour and nearly getting there with room tidiness! We have been amazed at how confidence keeps growing, with lots of children taking on the most difficult challenges.
Robin Hood had nothing on our children today when we took on the archery activity!
The team spirit is great, children are really supporting each other and there are a lot of children developing into real leaders (the Kingswood staff are scared for their jobs!).

Some great room scores this morning for tidiness. A full cooked breakfast/yogurt/ cereal and toast, followed by a morning meeting set us up for the day. Everyone was excited at the thought of the 3G swing and all groups have now given it a go, (along with some teachers!) Some of the childrens faces were a picture when they first pulled the cord!
The sun has been shining all day, and we are really proud of the determination and positive attitude shown by year 6.
The children have found the menus around the centre now, and are choosing meals hours in advance! This evening has been fun- scrapheap challenge- children being given the chance to soak the instructors.
Children (and teachers) are looking forward to another good night’s sleep.

After a straight forward journey (and much excitement passing Meadowhall!), the children were excited to see the Kingswood tower. A quick tour round the site and it was to unpack… make up the beds (with varying success) and eat.
Following tea we were straight into the high challenges- two groups tackled the abseiling wall. Everyone enjoyed the campfire, and hot chocolate back at the centre.
Despite the strong winds from around 10pm till early this morning, the children slept really well. They are already growing in confidence and making the most of all the challenges…the food choices are going down really well… no complaints!
Year 6 are representing Forest View so well, with instructors already hoping to be able to work with our children again.
